Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using AKARI you agree to these terms with AKARI Media. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Plans and subscriptions

• Free: limited catalogue, daily keys and up to 10 rewarded ads per day.
• Standard: full standard catalogue, no advertising.
• VIP: everything in Standard plus AI Studio access and a daily episode CREATION eligibility. Rendering is charged separately in credits.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price shown at purchase until cancelled. When you buy in the mobile app, payment is charged to your Apple or Google account, and renewal occurs within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

4. Cancellation and refunds

Manage or cancel your subscription in your store account settings (Apple / Google Play). Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the period ends. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy.

5. Credits and rewarded ads

Credits are a one-time consumable used for episode unlocks and AI generation. They have no cash value, are not transferable and are non-refundable once spent. Rewarded ads grant credits only after the full ad has played; attempting to manipulate, replay or automate rewards is a breach of these terms and may result in credit removal or account closure.

6. AI-generated content

You are responsible for the prompts you submit and must not request content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes third-party rights such as existing characters or trademarks. We may remove generated content and refuse generation requests. Generation consumes credits or quota even when the result does not meet your expectations, except where a render fails on our side, in which case credits are refunded automatically.

7. Your content and third-party rights

• You are solely responsible for everything you create, upload, publish or share through AKARI, including prompts, character descriptions, images, audio and generated episodes.
• You must hold all rights, licences or permissions required for any third-party material you use — including existing anime characters, character names, logos, artwork, music, voices and other copyrighted or trademarked material.
• By creating content that references an existing or recognisable character, franchise or other third-party intellectual property, you acknowledge and confirm that you are responsible for that choice and for ensuring it is lawful in your jurisdiction, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
• You grant AKARI Media a non-exclusive licence to host, process, transcode and display your content solely to operate the service, and to distribute it publicly where you choose to publish it.
• We may remove, unpublish, restrict or refuse any content that breaches these terms, is reported by a rights holder, or appears to infringe third-party rights. Repeat infringement may result in account closure. Rights holders can send takedown requests to support@akari.app identifying the content and the right concerned.

8. VIP tournament

• The VIP tournament is a periodic creator competition open to members with an active VIP subscription who are of legal age in their country. Employees of AKARI Media and their immediate family may not win prizes.
• Entries must be original episodes created in AKARI and published within the announced entry window. One account per person; duplicate, automated or purchased engagement disqualifies the entry.
• Ranking combines eligible engagement metrics and, where announced, a judging panel. We may exclude entries that breach these terms or third-party rights, and our scoring and eligibility decisions are final.
• Prizes (credits, subscription time or other stated rewards) have no cash value, are not transferable, and are awarded within 30 days of the results announcement. Any taxes are the winner's responsibility.
• We may amend, suspend or cancel a tournament round where required for technical, legal or fairness reasons; announced entry rules and prizes for a round in progress will not be reduced except where legally required.
• The tournament is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Apple, Google, TikTok, YouTube, Meta or any other platform.

9. Acceptable use

Do not copy, download, redistribute or publicly perform catalogue content, circumvent access controls or ad gating, reverse engineer the app, or interfere with its operation.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, and we do not warrant that AI output will be accurate, original or non-infringing. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights.

Subject to the paragraph above and to the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for claims arising from content you create or publish, including claims by rights holders. Titles may be added to or removed from the catalogue at any time.

11. Termination and contact

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You may stop using the service at any time. Questions: support@akari.app.
